DOHA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – Iran signed on Tuesday 14 cooperation documents with Qatar, during the visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to the Gulf state.
The Director-General of Gulf Affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ali Reza Enayati, announced that Raisi signed these cooperation documents on the first day of the visit, and before delivering his speech at the summit of natural gas exporting countries in Doha.
The Iranian news agency quoted Enayati as saying “The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed with President Raisi ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.”
Enayati explained that the agreements and documents signed between the two countries included a political memorandum of understanding, a memorandum of understanding in the field of diplomatic education, a memorandum of understanding in the field of electricity, a memorandum of understanding on land transport, and an agreement on the exemption from political visa.
