HADRAMOUT, Feb. 03 (YPA) – The UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council” (STC) has stopped the recruitment process that it called for the oil-rich Hadramout province through the so-called “Al-Habah Alhadramiya” committee.
A statement issued Thursday by the recruits confirmed that they were surprised by the decision of the recruitment committee in the camp affiliated with the “Al-Habah Alhadramiya” to stop the recruitment process without any prior notice.
The statement explained that the head of the committee, Hassan Al-Jabri, promised the recruits, during the opening of the first camp for the sons of Hadramout valley, last Saturday, to pay 3000 Saudi riyals as a monthly salary for each recruit.
Observers considered that stopping the recruitment process comes within the framework of the conflict of interests between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the oil provinces.
Last month, the “Al-Habah Alhadramiya” committee of the STC called for the expulsion of the militants of the “First Military Region” militants affiliated with the Islah Party loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.
During the past few days, the “Al-Habah Alhadramiya” elements detained a ship loaded with crude oil and prevented it from leaving the port of Dhabba, after departure of the oil company “Calvali”, which it stopped the production process from Block 9 in the Al-Khasha’a area in Hadramout and laid off all its employees due to security imbalances and creating checkpoints funded by the UAE in front of the company’s gate.
