Masked men attack mosque in eastern Germany

BERLIN, Dec. 14 (YPA) – A mosque in the eastern German city of Leipzig was attacked with four windows smashed, a police spokesman said late Monday.

According to preliminary results, the mosque in Volkmarsdorf was damaged by a gathering of about 100 masked people, whom the police classified as a left-wing group.

The group also set fire to garbage cans nearby.

The police detained 11 people. No more information was disclosed.
