Tawoos discusses with donors humanitarian work in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 08 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulmohsen Tawoos, discussed on Wednesday, in an online meeting with representatives of the ten donor countries, humanitarian work in Yemen.

The meeting touched on some of the problems that accompany humanitarian work on the part of organizations and government agencies, and the treatments that have been taken in regard to them.

During the meeting, Tawoos gave a comprehensive presentation on the current situation in Yemen and the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the aggression and siege.

Tawoos stressed the need to enhance cooperation in implementing humanitarian work and moving to the development side because of its importance in supporting infrastructure and helping society to overcome the current conditions.

He called on donors to visit Yemen to see the projects funded by them in the field and to measure their tangible impact on the targeted communities, confirming readiness to provide the necessary facilities for their visit.

The representatives of the donor countries praised the cooperation of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, expressing their readiness to support humanitarian work efforts and solve difficulties through holding periodic meetings.
