Pentagon puts military plans to attack Hodiedah port: Report
SANAA, June 12 (YPA) – US Department of Defense (Pentagon) considered plans for direct military intervention by its troops to support the Saudi-UAE-led coalition forces to storm Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, according to US-based World Socialist website.
It reported that senior US military officials met at Pentagon to develop military plans to attack the city.
“The plans focused on a rapid intervention to avoid any civil disasters targeting the densely populated city,” it said, citing US officials.
It warned that any attack on Hodeidah poses a direct threat to civil population of 400,000, saying such direct US intervention will led to mass slaughter similar to that in Mosul of Iraq and Raqqa of Syria.
