SANAA, Nov. 10 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Salvation Government, Hisham Sharaf, on Wednesday stressed the need to address the root causes of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, represented by the aggression and siege.
This came during his meeting with the Head of the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sanaa, Mathew Leslie.
At the meeting, Sharaf stressed that the humanitarian file should be given priority and not be compromised or used as a political card, calling for further efforts of humanitarian organizations in proportion to the growing humanitarian needs.
He called for the Security Council, within its discussion of the arrangements for its meeting on Yemen, to pay attention to the suffering of the Yemeni people in all fields, and to find appropriate solutions, especially concerning the financial and economic aspects.
The Foreign Minister reiterated the Salvation Government’s readiness to provide the necessary facilities to organizations operating in Yemen.
For his part, Leslie confirmed that the United Nations would spare no effort in providing all aspects of support in a way that alleviates the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
