Zionist occupation forces assault prisoners in Gilboa prison

OCCUIED QUDS, Oct. 23 (YPA) – Zionist occupation forces stormed on Friday a section of Gilboa prison and assaulted dozens of Palestinian prisoners.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said: “The repressive forces called Masada, Dror, and Yamaz, who are heavily armed, stormed Section 1 of Gilboa Prison last night, and the intrusion continued until dawn today.”

The Club added that the forces carried out extensive searches inside the section, and assaulted the prisoners, who numbered about 90, in conjunction with cutting off the prisoners’ water and electricity by the prison administration.

In last September, the Gilboa prison witnessed an operation known as the “Freedom Tunnel,” when 6 prisoners managed to escape through a tunnel, which had a global resonance.

Following that operation, the prison administration began transferring half of the prisoners held there, intensified searches and incursions, and repeatedly threatened to transfer them to other prisons.
