MARIB, Oct. 21 (YPA) – A military leader loyal to the Saudi-led coalition survived an assassination attempt in Marib province, according to local sources.
The sources affirmed that the commander of the “143rd Brigade” Thiab al-Qibli, who was appointed by the coalition as commander of al-Jouba Front, was subjected on Wednesday to an assassination attempt by tribal gunmen on al-Jouba road.
The gunmen fired heavily at the convoy of the leader al-Qibli, injuring him and two of his companions in an armed ambush.
The sources attributed the attack of the militants to the commander of al-Jouba Front, because of refusal to use their areas as an arena for confrontations.
