Iraqi policemen killed in armed attack in Kirkuk

SANAA, Sept. 05 (YPA) – Al-Mayadeen TV reported the killing of 12 and wounding seven of the Federal Police, when a force of ISIS elements attacked Federal Police points.

Al-Mayadeen’s reporter said that among the martyrs was an officer with the rank of captain in the Federal Police who was wounded and died in hospital.

He stressed that the armed attack was carried out by detonating two explosive devices on the mobile supporting forces to support the security forces.

The sources indicated that “an ISIS attack was thwarted in eastern Salah al-Din at a site of the Popular Mobilization Forces.”

This comes at a time when Iraqi media reported the death of 13 policemen as a result of the attack in Kirkuk.

Earlier, the Iraqi forces were able to arrest the main transporter of weapons and materiel to ISIS in Kirkuk and Salah al-Din.

On Saturday, the Iraqi security media announced the arrest of two terrorists in Anbar.

On Friday, the Iraqi forces launched the “Revenge of the Martyrs” operation from 6 axes, to secure the border strip with Syria.
