Yemeni army ambush inflicts heavy losses on coalition in west coast

SANAA, June 9 (YPA) – Dozens of Saudi-backed militants fell dead and wounded and others captured on Friday in an ambush set by the Yemeni army forces in the west coast front, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The operation took place near Al-Sha’ab village in Hais district of Hodeidah province and led also to destroying several military vehicles belonging to the militants, according to the official.

This came after the army forces purged Aljah area in full of the coalition’s militants.

On Friday, the Yemeni army units launched a series of military offensives in the area, which resulted in the killing of several militants and the escape of many.
