MCN expects moderate to heavy rain in coming hours

SANAA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected on Monday moderate to heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorms, over most of Yemeni provinces during the next 24 hours.

The center in weather forecast said that the rain would prevail over the mountainous heights of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Al Dhalea, Dhamar, Raymah, Sanaa, Amran, Hajjah, Mahweet, Saada.

It pointed out that the rains would extend to the interior hills of the governorates of Bayda, Shabwa, Abyan, Hadramaut.

The center reported the continuation of the activity of the southwest monsoon on the Socotra archipelago.

Citizens in areas where rain is expected were warned to avoid being present in waterways and valleys, advising motorists to drive carefully on mountainous roads due to horizontal visibility, the fog formation, and rocks and mudslides.
