Sanaa Defense Ministry leaders visit Zuqar Island following control of western coast

SANAA, Sept. 11 (YPA) – Leaders of the Ministry of Defense in the Sanaa-based government conducted a field visit on Thursday to Zuqar Island, following an offensive that secured control over the strategic location and the entirety of Yemen’s western coastline.

In video footage released during the visit, defense officials reaffirmed their determination to clear all Yemeni territory of foreign forces, stating that “the enemy only understands the language of force” and asserting that while Yemenis do not advocate for war, they possess the capability to decide its outcome.

Zuqar Island holds significant strategic value in the southern Red Sea due to its elevated terrain, which overlooks a large cluster of surrounding Yemeni islands.

The announcement coincided with a statement from the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa confirming the cessation of clashes along the western coast, after the takeover of all areas previously held by Saudi-backed forces.
