Military commander loyal to coalition survives assassination attempt in Taiz

TAIZ, Aug. 20 (YPA) – A military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition has survived an assassination attempt in Taiz, southwest Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on local sources.

According to the source, armed groups opened fire at the  car of Morteza al-Haboub, a Colonel  in Hadi’s 5th Brigade , in Tahrir Street in the center of Taiz.

The colonel was not injured, while one of his companions was moderately injured, the sources said.

The incident comes in the context of the security chaos that has been taking place in Taiz province for years.
