First Kuwaiti soldier killed by Yemeni army fire

SANAA, June 6 (YPA) – A few days after Kuwait officially announced the participation of its troops in the war on Yemen, the Yemeni army said on Tuesday that a Kuwaiti officer was injured in Al-Mahashima front in Jawf province.

Colonel Falah bin Shafi al-Hajri, who also holds Saudi nationality, was seriously wounded in the ongoing fighting in Jawf, according to military sources in the Yemeni army.

By this announcement from the Yemeni side, Kuwait has received the first response to its participation in the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Many of Emirati, Saudi, Bahraini and Qatari soldiers and officers in ranks of the coalition have been killed in several fronts over more than three years of the aggression war in Yemen.

According to activists on social networks, the Kuwaiti officer was killed, but the news of his death was postponed in an attempt to preserve the morale of Kuwaiti soldiers who have just begun to take part in the fighting against Yemenis under Saudi Arabia’s flag.
