Sources in Marib reveal funds coalition paid to buy loyalties in Rahba battle

SANAA, Jul. 15 (YPA) – Tribal sources in Marib province revealed on Thursday the amount of money paid by Saudi-led coalition countries with the aim of buying loyalties of some sheikhs and leaders of armed factions to fight in their ranks in Rahba front in the province.

The sources said that Saudi Arabia and the UAE paid 500 million Yemeni riyals and two million Saudi riyals to Sheikh Thiab bin Ma’eili, 200 million Yemeni riyals to Sheikh Hussein Ali Al-Awadhi, 200 million Yemeni riyals to Sheikh Al-Ajji, and 300 million Yemeni riyals to Sheikh Al-Shaddadi.

These paid funds sparked a wave of anger among the leaders and recruits of the coalition, whose salaries were not paid by the coalition countries for several months, the sources added.
