Biden: establishing a Palestinian state is “the only solution to the conflict”

SANAA, May 22 (YPA) – US President Joe Biden said Friday that the “only possible solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the creation of a Palestinian state living side by side with the occupation state, while

He stressed his commitment to  secure  the occupation and the need for the region to “unequivocally” recognize Israel.

“There is no change in my commitment to the security of the occupying state,” Biden said at a joint press conference with his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in at the White House.

“There is no change at all,” he said, stressing that “change is that we still need a two-state solution. This is the only solution, the only solution.”

The democratic president’s statement came a day after the Occupying State and the resistance factions in the Gaza Strip reached an agreement on a ceasefire that ended 11 days of mutual shelling between the two sides brokered by Cairo.

Biden also announced at his press conference that he would work in cooperation with the international community to provide “substantial” financial assistance for “Gaza reconstruction” but “without the opportunity for Hamas to rebuild its arsenal.”

“I have informed the Israelis that it is important for me to put an end to these clashes between groups in Jerusalem, which are the work of extremists on both sides,” he said.
