Hadi forces take control over Ahwar district in Abyan

ABYAN, April 01 (YPA) – Hadi’s forces on Thursday took control of one of the most important directorates in Abyan, southern Yemen, paving the way for a major operation towards Aden’s main stronghold of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias.

Local sources said that during the early hours of the morning, Hadi’s forces pushed large reinforcements to the Ahwar district and set up positions along the coastline linking Hadi’s strongholds in Shuqra and the Coast of Abyan, which is Hadi’s main center for arms smuggling .

According to the sources, the STC militias  withdrew from the directorate earlier Wednesday over the progress of Hadi’s forces.

Hadi’s deployment in Ahawr reinforces accusations against Hadi to be behind al-Qaeda’s recent attacks on security-belt points have left one dead and wounded.
