Head of judiciary in Iran visits Iraq

SANAA, Feb. 8 (YPA) –

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad issued a statement on Sunday about the visit of the head of the Iranian judiciary, Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, to Iraq.
The embassy statement stated: In the context of the comprehensive development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, Iran and Iraq, and in response to the visit of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Iraq to Tehran last year, the head of the judiciary in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, will visit Baghdad on Monday at the invitation of Mr. Faiq Zaidan, with the aim of developing judicial and legal relations between the two countries.

The statement added: The head of the Iranian judiciary, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation, will hold talks with his Iraqi counterpart, as well as a number of other senior Iraqi officials.
The statement indicated that during the visit, a number of memoranda of understanding will be signed between senior officials of the judiciary bodies in the two countries.
The Iranian embassy in Baghdad expressed its wishes for more success and strengthening ties of friendship between the two neighboring countries, Iran and Iraq.
On Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq announced that the head of the Iranian judiciary, Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, would visit Baghdad on Monday.
