SANAA, Feb. 6 (YPA) – French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian announced that “important discussions” would be held with Britain, Germany and the United States about Iran.
Le Drian wrote on Twitter, on Friday, “We had in-depth and important discussions about Iran with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, German Heiko Maas and British Dominic Raab to deal together with the nuclear and security challenges in the region.”
Le Drian added that the ministers also addressed “some other major pressing issues”, without revealing further details.
On Thursday, American sources had talked about a contact between the foreign ministers of the United States and the European Troika regarding the Iranian nuclear deal.
This became the first contact with the foreign ministers of Western countries that signed the nuclear deal with Iran in 2015, after the new US administration came to power in Washington.
Officials in the team of the new US President, Joe Biden, had talked earlier about the possibility of the United States returning to the nuclear agreement and the need to discuss other issues related to Iran.
