Military battalion returns to Aden after being disarmed

ADEN. Dec. 28 (YPA) – A military battalion of the “Presidential Protection Brigades loyal to the Saudi-led coalition forces returned on Monday, to the city of Aden, south of Yemen, after being disarmed in Abyan province.

According to sources, a Saudi committee prepared several buses to transport the battalion loyal to Islah Party from the coastal city of Shakra in Abyan province to al-Masheeq Palace in Aden.

The sources indicated that dozens of presidential protection personnel returned to Aden, and took over Haqat area and the mountains overlooking the palace.

The return of the “Presidential Protection Brigades” to Aden came after the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militia seized the weapons stores of the Saudi-backed exiled Hadi government in August 2019.
