Iran warns of consequences of Israeli submarine presence in Gulf waters

TEHRAN, Dec. 28 (YPA) – Iran warned on Monday of the consequences of an Israeli submarine’s heading to the Gulf waters.

“Everyone knows what the Persian Gulf means for Iran and they know the danger of the risk of crossing its red lines,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a press conference.

He added, “The news of the Zionist enemy submarine moving towards the Persian Gulf is an informational game that we recommend not to participate in.”

For his part, the spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Parliament, Abu al-Fadl Amawi, said in statements to Al-Jazeera that If an Israeli submarine arrives in the Gulf, his country would consider this “a hostile act.”

He addressed the Israelis, saying that they have to be careful, and that “if an Israeli submarine reaches the waters of the Gulf, it will be a great goal for us,” stressing that “bringing the Israelis near Iran, may create problems for neighboring countries.”
