Dozens of Israeli settlers break into al-Aqsa Mosque, perform Talmudic rituals

QUDS, Aug. 26 (YPA) – Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday morning, entering through the Moroccan Gate under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces.

According to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem, the settlers conducted provocative tours inside the compound and performed Talmudic rituals and prayers in the eastern section of the mosque.

At the same time Israeli police imposed further restrictions on Palestinian worshippers attempting to access the mosque, confiscating their identity cards at the gates and limiting entry.

During the so-called “Rosh Chodesh” (Jewish New Year), Israeli settlers have escalated their violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Settlers carried out public prayers inside the mosque, further intensifying tensions. One settler also provoked the situation by blowing a shofar (ram’s horn) within the mosque compound.

Meanwhile, calls for Jerusalemites continue as Al-Aqsa Mosque sees ongoing attacks and incursions by colonists and the occupation police, in an attempt to change the religious and historical reality there and impose Judaization policies.
