ABYAN, Dec. 2 (YPA) – A Saudi truce committee left on Wednesday Yemen’s southern province of Abyan, according to informed sources.
The sources affirmed that the committee left the areas of confrontation between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia and Saudi-funded Islah party militant in the Shiekh Salam and Taraih fronts.
The Saudi-led efforts to cease fire between the STC and Islah militants had completely collapsed, amid the exchange of artillery attack between the two parties.
The source suggested that the Saudi de-escalation committee’s withdrawal from Abyan would pave the way to the STC militia to resolve the confrontations in the province.
