GMO: More than 40,000 infants in Gaza are threatened by gradual death

GAZA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza stated on Sunday that the Israeli occupation is deliberately starving more than 100,000 children and patients in a targeted manner, continuing to prevent the entry of meat, fish, and hundreds of essential food items.

“The Israeli occupation authorities continue to enforce a systematic policy of engineered starvation and slow death against more than 2.4 million people in the Gaza Strip, including over 1.2 million Palestinian children, constituting a full-fledged crime of genocide,” GMO said in a statement.

It added, “The most dangerous aspect of this ongoing crime is that its main victims are children and patients. More than 40,000 infants (under one year old) are suffering from severe malnutrition, their lives gradually threatened with death. Each day, children and patients are dying from hunger and malnutrition, their tragic farewells documented before the entire world in both image and sound.”

The Government Media Office condemned the Israeli-led policy of “engineering death,” holding Israel, the US, and their allies fully responsible for the deliberate starvation of civilians.

GMO urged Arab and Islamic nations, the international community, and UN agencies to condemn and apply real pressure to open crossings, lift the blockade, allow aid in, and end genocide and forced displacement.
