SANAA, Oct. 16 (YPA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) plane carrying 100 prisoners of Yemeni army and popular forces arrived on Friday, within the second staged of the prisoner exchange deal brokered by the UN, in Sanaa International Airport.
During the arrival of the prisoners, a large official and popular reception was organized by the National Salvation Government, including the state’s civilian, military and security leaders, to receive them, gratitude the their sacrifices to defend the homeland and confront the Saudi-led coalition war on Yemen.
Meanwhile, the another plan of the ICRC carrying 75 prisoners of the coalition forces left Sanaa airport heading to the coalition-held Aden airport.
Since the morning, Sanaa International Airport has seen preparations for the second phase of the UN-sponsored prisoner exchange deal, which includes the liberation of 200 prisoners of the army and the popular committees in exchange for 150 prisoners of the other party, through the ICRC-operated flights.
