Armed gang assaults university professor in Taiz

TAIZ, Oct. 14 (YPA) – Armed gang assaulted on Wednesday a professor in Taiz University in the Saudi-led coalition forces-held Taiz city center, according to sources.

The sources said that Faculty Members Syndicate at the university condemned the repeated attacks that hit Dr. Said Iskandar, associate professor in the Department of History and Political Science and a member of the administrative body of the Syndicate.

On the other hand, the Syndicate called, in a statement, on the competent authorities to work to protect its members and stop the attacks that target them.

The Syndicate explained that it would organize a protest rally and strike stage demanding to arrest the perpetrators and take escalatory steps against them.

Earlier, the armed gang fired a barrage of bullets at his private car parked in front of his house in the Rawda neighborhood in the city.

Taiz city has seen security chaos and continuous violations of the rights of citizens and university professors.
