Iran announces death of Khamenei’s advisor due to his wounds

TEHRAN, June 14 (YPA) – Iranian television announced, on Saturday, the death of Ali Shamkhani, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, from injuries he sustained in the opening strike launched by the Israeli enemy on Friday morning.

Shamkhani was among the main targets of the Israeli strike that targeted nuclear facilities and military headquarters in Tehran and Isfahan, whereas an Israeli official indicated that the attack targeted senior Iranian leaders, including Shamkhani, who plays a prominent role in the Iranian nuclear file and negotiations with the West.

Previously, some Iranian sources circulated conflicting reports about his health, whereas some reported that he was only injured, while other sources, including the New York Times, quoted security officials as saying that he was martyred. However, the vast majority of official Iranian sources confirmed that he was injured and transferred to the hospital in critical condition.
