Minister in Hadi’s gov’t visits Shabwa camps, calls for uprooting STC

SHABWA, Oct. 5 (YPA) – Minister of Endowment in Hadi’s government loyal to Saudi-led coalition Ahmed Attiya called on Monday for the uprooting the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council from Abyan province, in southern Yemen.

A local source in Shabwa said that Attiya praised, in a religious sermon he delivered during his visit to ‘Morra’ camp and soldiers of the so-called “Special Forces” camp in Shabwa, steadfastness in the face of the STC funded by the UAE.

The source indicated that Attiya’s visit to the camps aimed to raise the morale of the Islah Party militants before sending them to the battlefronts with the STC militias on Abyan front.

A number of Hadi government ministers, accompanied by Socotra governor Ramzi Mahrous, arrived on Saturday in Shabwa, which is controlled by Islah militants, as the battles intensified in Abyan, and the so-called “Riyadh Agreement 2” stalled.
