ABYAN, Oct. 3 (YPA) – Sewage water overflowed in Al-Mahal area in Zinjibar city, on Friday, due to a blockage of sewage drainage networks in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Citizens described the crisis as evidence of officials in the local authority failing to provide the most basic services in the region, calling for radical solutions to address the sewage overflow crisis.
Sewage ponds are threatening an environmental and health disaster, due to their role in the spread of mosquitoes that transmit epidemic diseases, amid the limited capabilities of health facilities.
