SANAA, Sept. 22 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center renewed on Tuesday its advising for citizens, especially children, the elderly, and those with chest diseases not to be directly exposed to dust and dirt, as they are harmful to public health.
The center called on the civilians, especially in desert areas, inner plateaus and mountainous highlands not to be directly exposed to dust and dirt and advised those dealing with sensitive electronic devices to protect their devices from the effects of dust.
The center warned vehicle drivers of the decrease in the horizontal visibility in desert, mountainous areas and inland hills, calling on fishermen and sea goers to take precautions and beware of high waves and sea turbulence around Socotra archipelago.
The center expected that large desert areas will be affected by a mass of dust, which originates in the northeast of the Arabian Peninsula.
The mass of dust will extend to the mountainous governorates and the interior plateaus, and it is expected that parts of the southern coast will be affected later.
