int’l organization confirms that Gulf states continue to recruit mercenaries for violating human rights
SANAA, Sept. 19 (YPA) – The International Peace Organization confirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council countries continue to recruit and deploy mercenaries for violating human rights.
A spokeswoman for the organization said in a statement to the Human Rights Council that the GCC countries intensified the use of services of military and security companies, especially in immigration and border management.
She added that the GCC states instituted this practice to protect their interests inside and outside their borders.
She indicated that the most prominent examples of these practices were in Bahrain in 2011 to suppress peaceful protests, and in the current aggression against Yemen.
The organization stressed that these violations are taking place under the auspices of countries such as the United States, Britain and France.
