3 killed, 10 wounded in Abyan fighting

ABYAN, Aug. 18 (YPA) – At least 13 people were killed wounded in infighting between Hadi forces and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Abyan, southern Yemen, , local sources said on Tuesday.

According to the sources, at least three people were killed and 10 others injured as hadi’s forces shelled the STC’s positions in the areas of Al-Taryah , Sheikh Salem and Wadi Sala.

The infighting continued at dawn today between the two sides, one of the sources said.

The clashes coincide with Saudi Arabia’s start-up of military measures, indicating that both sides have refused to implement the agreement, which could cause the mechanism to speed up its implementation.

The province of Abyan is witnessing a state of chaos due to conflict between Islah and STC forces.
