Israeli occupation army bombards positions in Gaza Strip

SANAA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – Israeli occupation artillery on Sunday night bombed a resistance position in the Gaza Strip.

“Israel Defense Forces’ tanks tonight shelled a Hamas monitoring post in the Gaza Strip,” the occupation army said.

In its brief statement, the army added: “The shelling was in response to the firing of incendiary and booby-trapped balloons from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, as well as riots on the security fence.”

No casualties, injuries or material damage have been reported, as the strike was limited to a Hamas observation tower, where, according to eyewitnesses, no one was present or around it.

For several days, the Occupying forces  have been carrying out intensive air strikes on the Gaza Strip, as well as using heavy artillery and tanks to shell the Gaza Strip, in response to alleged firing of booby-trapped balloons from the Gaza Strip towards “Israel”.
