Tension between Sabiha tribes, STC’s militias in Aden

ADEN, July 19 (YPA) – The city of Aden on Saturday witnessed a major tension that threatened to erupt into a renewed military situation between the Sabiha tribes and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional (STC) ‘s militias.

According to local residents, forces belonging to the STC were deployed heavily on many of Aden’s main streets, following the arrival of many of the Sabiha tribesmen to the center of Aden.

Residents also said that the so-called security belt forces have set up several checkpoints at the entrances to Aden province.

The tension comes after military forces from the “Storm Battalion” led by Osan al-Anshali, loyal to the STC, surrounded the headquarters of Ahmad Abdullah al-Turki, governor of Lahj province in Hadi’s government, north of Aden.

The Sabiha tribes have declared their readiness to respond to the excesses and childishness of the “STC” militia in Lahj province.
