Fierce clashes erupted among Islah, STC militias in Abyan

ABYAN, July 17 (YPA) – Fierce clashes erupted on Friday among Islah party’s militias and UAE-backed southern transitional council militiamen in Abyan province, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

Fierce fighting and battles were erupted in Shaqra district over the past hours.

The sources mentioned that the southern militants launched violent bombing on Islah militias’ sites, and fierce explosions were heard from a weapon store.

The two members of the Military Mediation and Truce Committee submitted their resignation yesterday, due to the parties’ failure to adhere to the declared truce, and renewed clashes between them.
