Saudi-backed forces stage armed protest in Marib over payments

MARIB, Sept. 18 (YPA) – Fighters affiliated with the Saudi-backed “Sixth Military Region” staged an armed protest in central Marib city on Thursday, in what was described as the first public military mutiny by the forces, in protest against systematic exclusion and marginalization by Islah-aligned commanders.

Local sources reported that dozens of Sixth Military Region fighters held an armed protest in the city after their names were removed from the Saudi riyal payment lists.

The protesters demanded that their dues be paid in Saudi riyals, as is the case with other factions, and threatened to escalate militarily if their demands were not met immediately.
