Military commander loyal to Hadi killed in Marib

MARIB, June 23 (YPA) – A senior military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition forces was killed on Tuesday during battles with Yemeni army backed by popular committees in the northeastern province of Marib, sputnik agency reported.

A military source told ” sputnik ” that the Yemeni army forces, with the support of a rocket and artillery, launched a large-scale attack on the Saudi-led aggression mercenaries in the strategic al-Kasarah position in the front of Sirwah west of Marib.

He added that the army forces made significant progress during the attack, which resulted in the death of the head of operations of the third military region of the mercenary forces, Brigadier General Naji Ben Ali Hanshal, along three of his companions and injured seven  others.

According to the source, the army and popular committees’ control of the strategic site north of Jabal Helan overlooking Marib city, which is a few kilometers away through Marb-Sanaa road,

It enables the army and committees to cut off the supply of mercenaries from Marib city to the al-Jada’an and Majazer directorates and parts of the Nihem district east of Sanaa.
