European deputies demand sanctions against Israel

SANAA, June 23 (YPA) – More than 50 members of the European Parliament signed a memorandum calling for the imposition of sanctions on “Israel” if it implemented measures to annex Palestinian areas according to the declaration of the occupation government.

The memorandum, which was submitted to the Vice-President of the European Commission and the High Representative for the European Union’s foreign policy and security, Joseph Burrell, called on the member states of the European Union to recognize the State of Palestine in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions, as well as the prohibition of settlement goods in European markets.

The signatories pointed out the necessity ++of stopping the implementation of the European-Israeli agreement, banning the export of arms to “Israel”, and excluding them from all European financing projects in the event that they implement the declared annexation procedures.

They pointed out the importance of the role that the European Union can play through its role in holding “Israel” its responsibilities in violation of human rights and international law, which the Union did not play during the past period as required.

On the other hand, the ambassador of the State of Palestine to Greece Marwan Tobasi said that the members of the European Parliament are representatives of the Greek Communist Party and in conjunction with the members of the European Communist Initiative Bloc in Parliament headed by Kostas Papadakis, they made violent criticisms during European Parliament’s sessions that did not take the necessary measures according to international law right Occupation, and they demanded the imposition of sanctions, as did union with other countries.

And they called on the countries that have not yet recognized the state of Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem, to immediately recognize the state to protect the two-state solution, and to reach the implementation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and end the 53-year occupation.
