SANAA, June 4 (YPA) – India and Australia concluded an agreement on Thursday to use military bases in each other, an agreement that will pave the way for more military exchanges and exercises in the Indian and Pacific region, the Indian Foreign Ministry said.
According to Reuters, the signing of the Mutual Logistics Support Agreement came at a hypothetical summit between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison.
A similar agreement between India and the United States is part of a broader military cooperation aimed at striking a balance against China’s growing economic and military influence in the region.
