MARIB, June 1 (YPA) – The city of Marib, southeast Yemen, on Monday evening witnessed severe tension between al-Jadaan tribes and Islah Party militias, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The tensions came as a result of the latter’s execution of one of Saudi-led coalition’s recruits and the arrest of others who fled the fighting in the Jadaan area, the sources explained.
The so-called security forces, affiliated with the Islah militia in Marib, killed a member of the Jadaan tribe and arrested others while fleeing from the fighting in the ranks of the coalition forces in al-Jadaan front on the outskirts of the city.
A meeting was held a few hours ago, between the security commanders in Marib and the al-Jadaan Sheikhs to try to contain the situation and end the tensions, the sources added.
