Algeria prohibits demonstrations due to Corona virus
SANAA, March 18 (YPA) – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced, on Tuesday evening, the banning of street protests because of the Corona virus.
Tebboune confirmed on Tuesday evening in a televised speech about the current situation the country is going through that the pandemic is a matter of “national security” and “health security” that concerns everyone and that the state is aware of the sensitivity of the circumstance, and as far as it is keen to respect freedoms and rights, it is also responsible for protecting People and property.
Algeria confirmed 60 cases of corona virus, of which five died, most of them in the city of Blida, south of the capital, imposed restrictions on most foreign travel and closed mosques.
