Mothers demand disclosing fate of detained, disappeared sons in Aden
ADEN, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Mothers of the abducted and the forcibly disappeared on Monday staged a protest in front of Saudi-led coalition headquarters in Aden province, southern Yemen.
In a statement issued in the protest vigil, the Association of Abductees Mothers demanded the disclosure of fate of dozens of the forcibly disappeared and the immediate release of them.
The mothers said in the statement that their sons were hidden three years ago in secret prisons and other well-known prisons in the city of Aden.
The mothers of the disappeared appealed in their statement to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross to quickly work to rescue the abductees and the disappeared and press for disclosure of their fate in light of the changing conditions experienced by the province.
The statement called on all authorities in Aden to take responsibility towards the file of abductees, detainees and disappeared and to ensure their freedom and safety, holding the military and security formations in Aden responsible for any risk to lives and safety of them as a result of their abduction, concealment and torture.
