TAIZ, June 22 (YPA) – Gas tanker agents and drivers held a protest in Taiz city, on Sunday, to denounce the detention of their tankers for 10 days in Lahj governorate, which is under the control of coalition factions.
Participants in the protest, which toured Jamal Street, called on the coalition authorities in Taiz to quickly intervene to release the gas tankers and secure gas supply routes without any obstacles.
They stressed the need to transport Taiz’s allocation of domestic gas according to the records at the Safer facility on a regular basis.
Transitional Council factions detained a number of gas tanker drivers in the Ras al-Ara area of Lahj over a commercial dispute between gas station owners.
Last Sunday, gunmen from the Al-Awshan tribe in Damashqa blocked the Safer-Ma’rib road to demand the release of a detained member of the tribe from a prison in Al-Mahra, which led to a stifling gas crisis in Aden and the rest of the governorates under coalition control.
