Sanaa government condemns barbaric US aggression against Iran

SANAA, June 22 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based government strongly condemned on Sunday the blatant and barbaric US aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a statement, the government considered the US strikes a blatant declaration of war against the brotherly Iranian people.

The statement declared its full support for the Iranian people, affirming the Republic of Yemen’s commitment to the Yemeni armed forces’ declaration of readiness to target American ships and warships in the Red Sea, in support of the nation and to protect national security.

It noted Yemen’s continued support for Palestine and any Arab or Muslim country that may be subjected to any Zionist or American aggression.

The statement called on the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations to assume their responsibilities at this critical moment, to reject the American-Israeli aggression against Iran and Palestine.

In this context, the Sanaa-based Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the US aggression, stressing in a statement that the US aggression constituted a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

The ministry’s statement also contradicted the purposes of the United Nations, which affirm refraining from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, and contravenes international law, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

It warned that the US aggression against Iran could drag the region and the world into a war whose repercussions would be felt by all.

The statement called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and fulfill its role in maintaining international peace and security.

The Ministry clarified the Republic of Yemen’s support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its right to self-defense and to respond to the barbaric Zionist-American aggression.
