Labor Committee in al-Uqlah field suspends crude oil transport to Aden

SHABWA, June 22 (YPA) – The Labor Committee for Employees of Block S2 in Al-Uqlah field, Shabwa province, suspended the transfer of crude oil to the Saudi-led coalition-controlled city of Aden on Sunday.

The committee confirmed in a letter addressed to the Minister of Oil in the pro-coalition government that the suspension of crude oil transfers from the oil block was necessary until basic legal, service, and human rights arrangements were completed.

The committee called for urgent solutions to address the oil block’s situation following the transfer of fuel to the PetroMaisla crude oil power plant in Aden in early June.

Aden is likely to enter a severe electricity crisis within the next two days, following its relative stability throughout the past week without any radical solutions being put in place for the city’s electricity supply.
