21 people injured in earthquake in China

SANAA, Oct. 30 (YPA) – At least 21 people were injured due to an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale which jolted Xiahe County in northwest China’s Gansu Province.

According to Xinhua News Agency, local authorities said 2,097 houses were destroyed, stressing that transportation, water supply, energy, heating and communications are functioning normally.

Residents in the province felt strong tremors and many rushed to the streets after the quake.
