Death toll in Baghdad protests rises to 36

SANAA, Oct. 29 (YPA) – At least protesters have been killed so far in violence during demonstrations in the center of the Iraqi capital, an Iraqi medical source said on Tuesday.

The source told the media from inside the al-Wholesale Neurological Hospital that the dead protesters were in very serious condition when they arrived at the hospital.

He added that from 5:00 p.m. on Monday to the evening, 16 protesters were killed.

Earlier on Monday, Ali al-Bayati, a member of the Iraqi Human Rights Commission, revealed that the death toll of protesters had risen to 24.

Baghdad and a number of central and southern Iraqi provinces are witnessing a protest movement demanding the dismissal of Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi, the dissolution of parliament, the announcement of a national salvation  government, and new elections under international supervision.
