Top SPC member reveals Saudi “confusion and hesitation” in responding to peace initiative

SANAA, Oct. 26 (YPA) –  Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, revealed Saudi “confusion and hesitation” in responding to the peace initiative.

He described the coalition’s blockade of Yemen as “terrorist behavior. ”
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi further mocked the blockade’s justification for “arms smuggling”.

Al-Houthi said in a tweet on Friday night: ” Progress step by one man while another delays. This reflects any positive view of peace,” referring to the news of Riyadh’s attempts to open a direct line of communication with the head of the Political Council, Mahadi al-Mashat, while continuing its air strikes and blockade.

Saudi Arabia’s efforts have been circulated by Western media, most recently the American newspaper ” The National Interest “, published a report on Tuesday, by national security correspondent Matthew Beattie.

“The war in Yemen is not going well,” he said, adding that “Mohammed bin Salman is looking for a way out of his problems.” “The worst for Saudi Arabia is yet to come,” he said.

The newspaper reinforced the unconfirmed and lies about Saudi’s direct negotiations with the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, and said: “The Houthis are now negotiating from a position of force for a mutual ceasefire, while Saudi Arabia has offered a limited truce in four Yemeni provinces.”

In contrast to this Saudi reluctance, Mohammed al-Houthi reiterated his condemnation of the naval, land and air blockade of Yemen, saying: “The continuation of blockade on the Yemeni people is terrorist behavior of the Countries of the US-British-Saudi-Emirati aggression and their allies. Its primary goal is to further the suffering of the Yemeni citizen.”

In conjunction with the launch of a large-scale twitter campaign on Friday against the continued closure of Sanaa airport by the coalition, al-Houthi added: “This is the terrorist behavior of the continuation of the air embargo with flimsy justifications such as arms smuggling.”

“When will the weapons be smuggled when they return from Egypt or Jordan or when they leave Sanaa? “he said.

This is accompanied by the exposure of the way U.S. and European weapons reach terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda and ISIS in Yemen, and the confirmation of arms dealers in southern Yemen, which CNN has previously revealed about “the supply of weapons to the coalition of al-Qaeda and ISIS terrorist organizations.”

“A huge amount of weapons looted from camps in Aden during the war between pro-Saudi and pro-Emirati  factions were recently offered for sale to arms dealers from Marib, Jwaf, Hadhramout and transferred to Bayda and Shabwah,” southern news sites quoted arms dealers as saying.
