11 Afghan policemen killed in Taliban attack on security outpost
SANAA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Eleven security guards, including officers, were killed in a Taliban attack on a security outpost in the northern Afghan province of Gozjan on Wednesday, authorities said.
Alif Shah, the mayor of Faizabad district, told reporters that armed clashes took place after the Taliban launched an attack on a security outpost in the village of Gugladash.
He added that the clashes lasted several hours, and resulted in the killing of the commander of the station and 10 security guards, and caused casualties among the attackers.
For its part, the Taliban announced that its elements imposed control over the security post after the attack.
