Saudi media attacks Hani Bin Brik

SANAA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia news on Wednesday launched a media attack against the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the southern port City of Aden.

The Saudi Al-Arabiya news channel launched a verbal attack against Hani bin Brik, vice president of the so-called Southern Transitional Council, calling him “ignorant.”

Al-Arabiya reported that Bin Brik had first attacked the channel in a tweet, accusing it of “serving the organisation of traitors with high professionalism”, possibly referring to either the Saudi-backed government-in-exile of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi or the allied Islah Party (Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood).

Al-Arabiya’s report, after showing Bin Brik’s tweets against the channel, said that “the least that Bin Brik can be described as”, is the tern ignorant.

Despite being officially allied in their war against Yemen, the Saudi and Emirati invaders have vastly different strategic interests in the country. Whereas Saudi Arabia still supports the Hadi administration that is currently based in Riyadh, the UAE maintains a policy of supporting southern Yemeni separatists such as the STC.
